Program Collections

What are Program Collections?#

Program Collections in the NIAID Data Ecosystem are resources contributed by specific NIAID programs and research initiatives. These programs focus on particular areas of immune-mediated and infectious disease research, offering curated datasets and other resources aligned with their research goals. The NIAID Data Ecosystem has a filter to make it easy to find these resources.

Why/when would I use Program Collections?#

The Program Collections filter allows users to quickly find resources that were generated under a specific NIAID research program, as well as resources that are linked to particular research themes.

Use the Program Collections filter to:

  • Quickly narrow your search to resources that are part of specialized research efforts
  • Access high-quality, program-specific resources relevant to your area of interest
  • Find collections that align with the broader objectives of NIAID’s strategic research efforts

For example, if you are interested in data from the Systems Biology Consortium to study host-pathogen interactions, or if you want to explore emerging disease data from the CREID Network, the Program Collections filter will help you quickly locate those relevant resources.

How do I use Program Collections?#

The Program Collections filter can be accessed from the left sidebar on the Search page.

Selecting “Any program collection” will show all resources that have a value for the metadata field “sourceOrganization.name”.

Filter sub-categories, such as “NIAID Systems Biology” and “NIAID CREID Network,” show resources belonging to these specific programs.

Sub-categories within filters are sorted from most to least number of resources. For general information about filters, see the Knowledge Center’s Filtering Results page.
